Reading Response Week 5
In Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children Jacob has is now in the past with the children. He is being taught on how they are in a time loop which the children's head mistress Miss Peregrine keeps working. Jacob gets to see the bombing that would have killed all of the children if they weren't in a loop. Jacob Has to go back to the present time so his father wont worry. Jacob and his dad get in a big fight when he comes back from the past.
I am still really enjoying the book and I feel like it's getting a lot more interesting. I think Jacob will keep going to the past to see the children and learn more about his grandfather. I really like how the author is bringing the story into the past and the way he is doing it with the time loop. I also think that there is going to be some tension between Jacob and his dad especially after their fight. I wonder when they will leave the island and if Jacob will leave.

Short Story
That night that
Pedro left was terrible. That morning we all woke up and he was there. That day
we were getting ready to move on to the next town so we could see if there were
any more survivors. Ever since the war we have been moving from town to town
trying to find people that hadn’t been taken or killed. We packed up whatever
we had left and were moving to the edge of the small town we were staying in.
Pedro seemed to be acting pretty normal, but every once and a while there was a
small difference in the way he acted. He would get angry over the smallest
things, and he got really violent sometimes. I thought it was just because of
the war but looking back on it he really only started acting like this after we
left this town about seventy miles away.
That night we
grabbed our things and started walking. We only walked for thirty minutes when
Pedro asked to take a break. We said sure and took a break. Pedro went to go
check out the surroundings really quick. He came back silently and we didn’t know
until he attacked us. With rocks in his hands he hit us over the head and we
were out cold. We woke up the next day with only a little of our stuff still
there. We were all tied together around a tree. That was the last time we have
seen Pedro in months, but when were in certain towns we hear about someone who’s
description fits Pedro’s. One day we may find him and if we do he better be ready
to explain himself.

Dear One Year Olds
A very important skill for all one year olds to learn is how to walk. Once you learn how to walk you can go anywhere. Before you were stuck in that one place in the house, well not anymore because you have learned to walk. Now the whole house is yours to rome and adventure. So if you see a toy across the room and you want it, just stand up and walk over there. If you see a bowl of cheerios on the table and your feeling a little hungry, just walk on over there. The possibilities are endless when you learn how to walk.
Another important piece of advice is that you should learn to talk. Now you don't need to be having full out conversations but you want to say the occasional word just to impress random people and get free stuff. With this tool the opportunity of people giving you stuff for free has just massively increased. You could be in this little store and there could be this cup of cheerios you want just say some stuff and try to get it. It works a good percentage of the time.

Reading Response Week 4
I am still reading Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children. In the part Im now in Jacob the main character has gone back in time accidentally trying to find the children. This leads to Jacob getting an angry mob on him and getting kidnaped.
I really enjoy how the author brings the story back in time and uses vivd details to describe everything in the past. The author makes it very subtle that he's in the past which i found was a good strategy for this particular story.

9/11
On September 11, 2001, four passenger airlines were hijacked by the islamic terrorist group
al-Qaeda. The four planes were all heading to California. Two of the planes hit the world trait center in New York City. One plain hit the north tower and one hit the south tower. Within 2 hours both buildings had collapsed. The third plane crashed into the Pentagon in Washington D.C. Most of the west wing collapsed. The last plane was intended for the white house in Washington D.C., but the passengers on the plane rebelled against the terrorist and brought down the plane in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Around 3000 people were killed in total and 6000 more were injured.
This was the worst terrorist attack america had ever had. So many people died from this. The people on the last plane saved so many lives by crashing the plane before it could reach its destination. These people were some of the bravest people. Also the firemen who helped save people and tried to put out the fires. They truly made a difference in everything. Around 350 firemen died in 9/11, but they died saving people which is the most respectable thing ever.

Reading Response for Week 3
In Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children Jacob is in wales trying to find information on his grandfather. So far all he's found is the house, which he got some locals to show him the way, but theres one small problem. There's no one there. His dad is having a lot of luck with all of the birds on the island though.
So far the book has been really good. I really enjoyed the part where the two locals bring him to the house because Jacob ends up getting tricked and walking into a barn full of manure. This was really funny to picture and the author used good vivd details to describe it. I think that Jacob is going to eventually find something to help him find out more on his grandfather. Also I think that Jacob will learn a lot more about the house very soon.

My Phone
So this weekend my phone broke. The screen didn't crack, but the battery gave out. Now it dies really quickly, the phone overheats, and it will restart for no reason. It doesn't just restart once though, it restarts over and over again. This is super aggravating and I need a new phone really bad. This phone is basically an expensive paperweight
I have an old iPhone 4 that I was going to use until my new phone comes in, but I left that phone in my pocket of my good jacket. Then I go and lose my jacket. So now I don't have a phone at all, and I don't have my good jacket. Now I have to find another jacket to wear and wait for my new phone. I hope it comes in soon, because it sucks not having a phone.

Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children
Recently I have been reading Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs. I'm only a hundred pages in, but it's been a pretty good book. Its about a kid named Jacob. He is sixteen when he goes through a terrible family accident. He uncovers some information about the family member and heads off to Wales to follow a lead that could help understand their death.
In this book the author uses old photograph that were distorted to help tell the interesting story. The pictures are of children who are doing peculiar things like floating or have no head. this gives you ideas of what these kids look like when the author describes them. Also I like the way the author tells the story. The way he tells the story makes it interesting to read.
